It's 5:30 am and I'm heading towards Sanpya, the main fish market in Yangon, Burma, with my new friend and guide, the celebrated Burmese photographer Win Kyaw Zan; "You better bring your flash," he says, but I don't have one, not in Burma at least. I've just finished leading a Burma Photo tour for All Points East and boy what a time we've had! Burma is still largely a pre-industrial society, almost everything is done by hand, so witnessing the working life of the Burmese people is like stepping back in time!

The iceman cometh...

These hands are made for... Fish...

Betel anyone? It's worth a chew or two...

Child workers...

High-speed porters...

Warming hands!

Ice production.

Fish supper or fish breakfast...?

Tilapia anyone?

Workers playtime?

You want fish? I got fish!

Cool but inappropriate headwear...

Fresh vegetables? They go nicely with fish!

Fish, fish and more fish...
